AEO services

The category is new enough that scope varies wildly between providers. This is the work that has to happen regardless of who does it.

Phase one: build the record

Nothing downstream is possible without a verified statement of what is true. Services, hours including holidays, insurances accepted and explicitly not accepted, licences and their jurisdictions, service areas, price ranges, and who works there.

This is unglamorous and it is where engagements succeed or fail. A record built from guesses produces confident, wrong findings, and grades correct engine answers as errors.

Phase two: baseline measurement

A fixed set of the questions real customers ask, asked repeatedly across each engine, with the answers broken into individual claims and graded against the record. Repeatedly matters: a single pass measures noise.

A control set is established at the same time — questions about the category that will never be targeted by any fix — so later results can be separated from model drift.

Phase three: fix what is wrong

In rough order of durability: unblock AI crawlers, publish structured data generated from the record, add plain-language pages answering the exact questions being answered wrongly, and correct the third-party listings that the engines are citing.

That last one is frequently the highest-value and the most overlooked. Engines quote directories heavily, and a stale listing will keep regenerating a wrong answer no matter how good your own site becomes.

Phase four: verify honestly

Re-measure on a schedule, compare against the pre-change baseline, adjust for what the control set did, and report the result with its uncertainty.

A credible provider will sometimes tell you a fix produced no detectable change, and will tell you when an engine's model update makes a result impossible to attribute. A provider whose every intervention succeeds is not measuring carefully.

What to ask a provider before signing

What do you grade answers against, and who verifies it? How many times do you ask each question? What did the control group do? What is the margin of error on the headline number? Which engines, reached how? And what happens, contractually, when the answer is that the fix did not work?

Common questions

How long before AEO work shows results?

Engines need to re-read your site and, often, the third-party sources they cite. Two to eight weeks is a realistic window, which is why measurement is usually reported at fixed checkpoints rather than continuously.

Can you guarantee an AI engine will say the right thing?

No, and a provider who guarantees it is misrepresenting how these systems work. You can make correct information available in the forms engines read, and measure honestly whether the answers changed.

What does AEO cost?

The recurring cost is driven by measurement volume — questions multiplied by repetitions multiplied by engines — plus the work of applying fixes. Building the initial record is usually a one-off cost and is often the largest single line item.

Answerclaim asks the questions your customers ask, checks every claim against your verified record, and shows you which answers are wrong — with the margin of error, and with a control group so you can tell your fixes from the engine changing.
